For a long time, inflatable membrane buildings give the impression of round, plump "big balloons". Compared with the traditional "iron wall" made of reinforced concrete, the inflatable membrane building appears soft and fragile, and the membrane material seems to be easily damaged.

Is this really the case?

In fact, the toughness and tensile strength of the inflatable membrane building membrane are very superior. Only the membrane with medium strength has enough tensile strength to match the commonly used building steel plate. At the beginning of the design of the air-film building, the designer will consider the wind and snow loads and carry out rigorous calculations, so that it can withstand the huge pressure and destruction caused by the strong wind and snow. Therefore, under normal circumstances, excluding human factors, the membrane material of the air-film building is difficult to be damaged.

However, the difficulty of damage does not mean that it will not be damaged. The gas film is relatively afraid of being scratched and punctured by sharp objects. If the membrane surface is damaged, don't panic too much. Because of the change of the difference between indoor and outdoor air pressure caused by the damage, the intelligent control system will give an alarm at the first time to remind the technicians to evacuate and repair the membrane.

The repair method of the gas film membrane body is not complicated. There are two kinds of repair methods we usually use: the repair of the opening within 50 cm is usually done by using a manual hot-air gun; The damage of more than 50 cm can be fixed up and down with special aluminum splint for air film. These two methods can also be used together. Generally, the repair work can be completed in one hour. After the repair, the safety of the membrane building will not be affected.

Although the gas film has high toughness, high strength and is not easy to be damaged, it is still necessary to pay attention to maintenance in daily use. During the regular safety maintenance, the staff should avoid wearing shoes and clothes with sharp objects as much as possible to avoid damage to the membrane surface during climbing.
